Suzuki Swift is one of the most awaited cars in the world. Although it has the most fans in India, the Swift is the hatchback star in the global market. Fans are waiting for every news and details about the new version which was showcased at the recent 2023 Japan Mobility Show. Although the car will be launched in Japan first, the vehicle will soon be available to fly in India as well.
The Mini Cooper style, great features and affordable price have all made the general public and car lovers alike fans of the Swift. A few days after the Tokyo show, the new Swift has also been tested in India. The hatchback king is expected to be launched in the country early next year. Ahead of this, Suzuki has released more details of the vehicle.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift will also come with a new petrol engine. It has been advertised by many that it will provide high fuel efficiency of up to 40 kmpl. But blowing all the rumors to the winds, Suzuki has revealed the official mileage figures of the vehicle. Before coming to that let me tell you about the new engine.
The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is powered by a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder, Z12E petrol engine. However, the company has not yet revealed its power and torque figures. However, fans are expecting this new powertrain to deliver higher power and torque compared to the existing 1.2L NA petrol engine.
On the other hand, the hybrid version will deliver a fuel economy of 24.50 kmpl. The current model is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, DualJet petrol engine which is claimed to deliver a mileage of 22.38 kmpl and 22.56 kmpl for the manual and AMT variants respectively. Anyway, with this, it is clear that the new Suzuki Swift does not have any of the amazing mileage figures of 40 km which were advertised earlier.
The new Swift measures 3860 mm in length, 1695 mm in width, 1500 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2450 mm. That means the 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is 15 mm longer than the existing model. But it is also worth noting that the width and height of the car have been reduced by 40mm and 30mm respectively.
Coming to the design, the new Swift carries almost the same look as its predecessor in the fourth generation iteration. However, sharp headlamps with LED projector daytime running lights (DRL), new and larger grille with dark chrome accents, revised front bumper, new rear door and new tailgate design all give the hatchback a fresh look.
Suzuki has decided to revamp the interior as well. It comes with a new multi-functional steering wheel, wireless Android Auto, a 9-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay support, a semi-digital instrument console and Franks-inspired HVAC controls.
